The Springs Preserve is commonlyknown as the “birthplace of Las Vegas”, and since 1978, has held a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Thousands of years ago, the site served as the original source of water for Native Americans living in the area. Today, the site is marked by a 180-acre cultural institution that is designed to commemorate the dynamic history of Las Vegas and provide a vision for a sustainable future.

How do operators and technicians overcome flooding, a sewer collapse, process failure and other emergencies?
Do you ever wonder what transpires behind the scenes during the operation of a wastewater treatment facility? Instead of continuing to take these unsung specialists for granted, come see some of the best wastewater collection and treatment personnel in the world display their skills at the Tri-State Operations Challenge.
Each team is sponsored by a WEF Member Association or recognized Operator Association. Winners are determined by a weighted point system for two events (collection systems and maintenance), each designed to test the diverse skills required for the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities and their collection systems.
